Who We Are
For centuries, South India has been a centre for Vedic and shastric learning, with Tamil Brahmana agraharams serving as open universities producing scholars and philosophers of great merit.
Palakkad, with its rich Vedic heritage,
has contributed significantly to this tradition.
Our Founder
Dr. C. R. Swaminathan, M.A., Ph.D., an acknowledged Sanskrit and Vedic scholar, belongs to the well known Karyakar family of Chathapuram, Palakkad. Serving the cause of education, he was instrumental in initiating special schemes for preservation of the oral tradition of Vedic studies and establishment of the Maharshi Sandipani Rashtriya Veda Vidya Pratishthan (MSRVVP), Ujjain and most importantly, reviving a number of Veda Pathasalas in various parts of the country.
A Comparative Study of the Gita Bhashyas, the Kanva Satapatha Brahmana with English translation and the Sripada Saptathi are amongst his numerous publications.

Our Management
The Veda Rakshana Samithi under which the Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Sankaracharya Veda Pathasala functions, is registered under the Societies Act, 1861 (Reg. No. 14/96 dt. 10.1.1996).
It is managed by an active Governing Body with the sole objective of providing the right atmosphere for our great Vedic tradition to flourish. The Committee believes that this is the only and worthwhile legacy we could leave for our future generation.
